Position Summary
Process accounts involving liabilities, estates and bankruptcies in accordance to North Carolina Cease and Desist (legal provision that prevents creditors from pursuing debtors for money owed). Review and monitor accounts placed in a legal status hold through the EPIC workqueues. Perform the duties of a Patient Counselor and Assistant Patient Counselor as required. Perform other related responsibilities as requested or required.
Responsibilities
Validate , process bankruptcy notices and file proof of claims in accordance to North Carolina Cease and Desist .
Daily communication with attorney offices, insurance adjusters, and other third parties (verbal and written).
Process accounts involving liabilities and estates.
Provide liens and various legal documents to attorney offices.
Submit subpoenas and other legal documents to the clerk of court.
Validate estates for all North Carolina counties.
Assist walk-in patients, paralegals, attorneys and other legal representatives.
Minimum Requirements
High School plus 2 years of formal experience or education in Health Occupations, Business, criminal justice or related.
Associate degree plus 2 yrs of formal experience in Health Occupations, Business, Attorney Office, Criminal Justice or related
Paralegal preferred.
One additional years of related experience may be substituted for one year of the required education with a maximum substitution of two years.
More than 2 years experience in an Attorney's office, Business Office or Doctor's office preferred.
