About ECU Health Roanoke-Chowan Hospital

ECU Health Roanoke-Chowan Hospital is a 114-bed community hospital located in Ahoskie. Serving four nearby counties, the 15-bed emergency department sees approximately 18,000 patients per year. ECU Health Roanoke-Chowan Hospital provides a wide range of health services, including medical, surgical and radiation oncology. In addition, the Wound Healing and Pain Management clinics serve as referral centers for neighboring ECU Health hospitals and providers.

Ahoskie, NC is ideally located an hour from the Norfolk/Virginia Beach area and two hours from Raleigh, Richmond, Williamsburg, and the beautiful Outer Banks of NC. Ahoskie offers a moderate cost of living, a strong sense of community, and a temperate climate and location to support a variety of year round outdoor activities, such as boating, kayaking, hunting, fishing, hiking, and golf.

Position Summary

The Occupational Therapist (OT) is responsible for assessment, treatment planning and execution of Occupational Therapy treatments.These services are based on the patient/family preferences and the developmental needs, medical conditions and diseases as they affect patient care and recovery. As an Occupational Therapist (OT), you will be responsible for maintaining patient care documentation and adherence to documentation guidelines. You shall provide patient care following development of a treatment plan completed considering the  patient's problems as related to occupational performance.

Minimum Requirements

  • 4 year degree or higher from an accredited school of Occupational Therapy 
  • New Graduates must have successfully passed the exam administered by the National Board for Certification of Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) and a current OT licensure and/or eligible with the State of North Carolina Board of Occupational Therapy (NCBOT)
  • Progressive and dynamic knowledge of Occupational Therapy and a willingness to participate in continuing education, to remain current in new theories of treatment
  • Ability to work with other health care professionals in a manner that will ensure continued cooperative efforts 

Registration or Certification required:

  • North Carolina Board of Occupational Therapy (NCBOT)
  • National Board for Certification of Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)

CAREER LADDER

  • Level I:      0-3 years of experiences
  • Level II:     3-5 years of experiences
  • Level III:    5-10 years of experiences
  • Level IV:   10 years or more experiences

Other Information

  • 40 hours a week
  • Monday - Friday (8 am - 5 pm)
  • Will be required to work in both acute and outpatient care
