Position Summary

Seeking a NP/PA to provide Occupational Health and Workers Comp services to ECU Health team members.  A portion of this role will also be in our contracted local business and industry occupational health clinics and will include some primary care services.   


  • Direct Patient Care in collaboration with Collaborating Physician(s). Assists with admission work-ups and/or consults to facilitate care. Initiates, monitors, alters and orders treatments including but not limited to device placement, physical and occupational therapy, home health referral, and discharge planning.
  • Documents physical findings and plan of care in the progress notes. Documents results of studies and plan of care based on study results in progress notes.
  • Patient/family communication and coordination of the plan of care with patients and families.
  • Fulfills mandatory educational requirements annually, which include but not limited to  JCAHO and other institutionally required education. BLS and ACLS or appropriate certification related to specialty.

Minimum Requirements

  • Board of Nursing approved Nurse Practitioner Program or Physician Assistant program.
  • NC RN licensure & NC Nurse Practitioner or as a Physician Assistant; National Board Certification as an NP/PA required.
  • More than 2 years experience in a health care setting.
  • May substitute NP/PA with no previous experience as NP/PA if they have clinical experience in an acute care setting with direct patient care for a minimal of 2 years.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
