Position Summary

Coordinates inpatient and outpatient referrals by working collaboratively with physicians/office staff/patient care staff.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates inpatient and outpatient referrals by working collaboratively with physicians/office staff/patient care staff.
  • Maintains direct communication with referring and accepting physicians as it relates to patient acceptance and transfer agreements, physician satisfaction surveys and thank you letters, HealthDirect nurses regarding referral screenings and referring facilities for the purpose of follow up calls and facsimiles.
  • Research and document Regional referral issues.
  • Provide education and training to all RRAE end users.  Provide updates to staff as changes occur to database.
  • Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide service appropriate to the age and acuity of the patient.
  • Extract data from the RRAE to generate statistical reports for use by PAS management and ECU Health executive staff on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis.

Minimum Requirements

  • High School plus 2 years or more of formal training or education in Business Administration, ART Medical Record Technology, Health Care Management Technology, Medical Office Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems or Associate College Degree:
  • 1 - 2 years experience in Healthcare setting, medical office, or other healthcare facilities.
