About The Outer Banks Hospital

The Outer Banks Hospital is a full-service critical access hospital offering a wide range of inpatient and outpatient services. The 21-bed facility is designed to meet the needs of the coastal community, whose year-round population of approximately 35,000 swells to about 350,000 in the summer season. Its campus includes four ORs, a medical/surgical unit, a labor & delivery suite with a dedicated caesarian section OR, a full rehabilitation therapy center, cancer treatment and radiation therapy center, and a 24-hour emergency department.

Position Summary

The Wellness Outreach Clinician serves on the Outreach Health Coach assisting with health assessments, education, and consultations to Outreach customers. The Wellness Clinician assists with the facilitation of health fairs, wellness programs, classes and education events. The Wellness Clinician may also conduct interviews, participate in screenings, and/or review results of health or wellness plans with patients of the Outreach department.

Minimum Requirements

High School + 1-2 yrs of formal training/education

Strong preference for a Bachelor or Master's degree in allied health or related field

American Heart Association BLS is required

Other Information

Part-time position without benefits

Shift:  PRN (As needed), 4-6 hour shifts, days, evenings and weekends

The Outreach Wellness Clinician assists with the clinical side of our Commnity Outreach events.  Clinicians will be asked to administer flu vaccines, wellness screens, A1C screenings, blood pressure checks , and other tasks as needed.
