ECU Health Edgecombe Hospital is a full-service, 117-bed acute care facility where residents of Tarboro and the surrounding communities can receive a wide range of health services close to home. As part of the ECU Health system of care, the hospital offers high quality care provided by more than 20 medical specialists, rehabilitation services, a birthing center, a cancer center, outpatient clinics and more.

 

Position Summary

As an Patient Care Assistant (PCA), the Nursing Assistant I and/or  II is directly accountable to the charge nurse and ultimately to the Nurse Manager for the performance of routine tasks and duties in the care of patients as assigned and under the direct supervision of a registered nurse. The PCA will modify and deliver care that is specific to age, growth and level of development of patients according to the units scope of practice.

Minimum Requirements

  • The NA I must have a current listing with NC Division of Facility Services as a NA I in the State of N.C. 
  • The NA II must have a current listing with the NC Division of Facility Services as a NA I, and a current listing as a NA II with the NC Board of Nursing
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
  • The employee must have a desire and ability to cooperate with and or under the direction of others, possess and exhibit a sense of responsibility, initiative and honesty, and be dedicated to providing optimal patient care, physician assistance and promotion of good will among co workers

Other Information

  • 24 hours a week
  • Weekends (Days):  7 am - 7 pm
  • Will work in a dural role as an NA I and/or NA II, Unit Secretary, and Transporter
