ECU Health Chowan Hospital in Edenton is a 25-bed critical access hospital which provides programs and services to 110,000 people in 6 counties. The facility offers medical and surgical services, including intensive care, a specialty care clinic and a dedicated outpatient surgery area with endoscopy capabilities. A 7-bed emergency department serves approximately 15,000 patients per year and team members at the facility have access to a telemedicine link with the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University.
Technician works under the immediate supervision if the Laboratory Supervisor. Performs clinical laboratory tests (Blood Bank, Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology, Serology, Urinalysis and other miscellaneous areas) by standard operating policies and procedures, understands method principles, performs quality control & calibrations, performs preventive maintenance, and analyzes results as to accuracy, acceptability and critical limits. Work according to rotation of schedule when necessary.
Must possess an associate degree in Clincal Laboratory Science and be registered as a Medical Laboratory Technician, or equivalent, by a nationally approved accrediting agency or be eligible to take such exam. Must be registry eligible (ASCP or equivalent). Must take certification exam within 2 years of employment.
This is a full-time position with benefits.
This is a weekend position (Friday, Saturday and Sunday).
72 hours per pay period, 12 hour shifts, (7:00 am - 7:00 pm).
Phlebomoty experience preferred.
