ECU Health Medical Center, one of four academic medical centers in North Carolina, is the 974-bed flagship hospital for ECU Health and serves as the primary teaching hospital for The Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University. ECU Health Medical Center has achieved Magnet® designation twice and provides acute and intermediate care, rehabilitation and outpatient health services to a 29-county region that is home to more than 1.4 million people.

Position Summary

  • Directly supervises all employees and their respective action in their assigned areas to ensure ordering, preparation, and delivery of quality food to patient, retail and catering customers, employees, and visitors. The supervisor position is accountable for overseeing the production operation by assuring operational timelines/standards are consistently meet and employees are completing their assigned duties. Sodexo cash handling policies and procedures are followed and steller customer service is provided.  Serves as a working supervisor coordinating activities of workers involved in both the At Your Request (AYR) program and retail venues while preforming day-to-day assignments.

Minimum Requirements

  • High School or equivalent is required.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English (Bilingual in Spanish is encouraged)
  • Ability to complete and maintain a Serve Safe Certification within the 1st year of employment is required.
  • 1 to 3 years experience in a large volume kitchens in either restaurant or institutional setting. Sound culinary techniques and leadership is a must.  Supervision of minimum of 5 or more people.

  • 12:00 - 8:30 pm.   Flexibility as needed.
