Position Summary

  • Manages transport program services providing 24 accountability, addressing and resolving any problems, issues, or concerns.
  • Develops  and implements policies and procedures.
  • Collaborates with Manager to plan the departmental budget.
  • Evaluates effectiveness of the department by developing, implementing and analyzing statistical data.
  • Hires, trains, and evaluates the performance of employees.
  • Demonstrates appropriate caring behavior in the workplace.
  • Oversees and supports Transporters, Lead transporters, and Assistant Supervisor, maintaining daily interactions with staff members and patients.
  • Ultimately responsible for all equipment maintenance records and repairs. Reports to manager any unresolved issues in timely manner.
  • Supports departmental Patient Advocate and hospital Service Excellence initiatives as they relate to patients, families, medical staff and team members.
  • Disciplines staff as appropriate, ensuring appropriate behaviors and adherence to all policies and procedures.
  • Keeps manager informed of any unusual occurrences in timely manner.

Minimum Requirements

  • High School plus 2 years or more of formal training or education
  • Health care, Business or related field.
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Related Work Experience:
  • More than 2 years but less than 3 years,
  • Experience as a supervisor, patient care practitioner, dispatcher, transporter.

Other Information

Candidate must be able to work all shifts, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
