ECU Health Medical Center, one of four academic medical centers in North Carolina, is the 974-bed flagship hospital for ECU Health and serves as the primary teaching hospital for The Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University. ECU Health Medical Center has achieved Magnet® designation twice and provides acute and intermediate care, rehabilitation and outpatient health services to a 29-county region that is home to more than 1.4 million people.

Position Summary

Identity and Access Specialist are responsible for how users within our organization are given an identity and how it is protected, including saving critical applications, data and systems from unauthorized access while managing the identities and access rights of users both inside and outside the organization. The specialist will be responsible for developing processes for account creation, modification, disabling and deleting accounts.


Technical Knowledge, Experience and Education

Work training and experience preferred
Ability and willingness to obtain advanced level knowledge of Epic Security and other security knowledge. Ability and willingness to grow knowledge of Enterprise Antivirus, software management software and PC imaging software, application security or security provisioning preferred.
Ability and willingness to grow knowledge of in the following areas preferred: Client Server
Services; Unix, SAN and Data Protection; Remote Access; Database Administration; Azure; Web Services; AD Manager; Password Manager; and Active Directory and Messaging
Ability and willingness to grow knowledge in working with project teams
Attend workflow meetings, and assist with various project tasks
Experience working in team-oriented, collaborative environment
Ability to grow knowledge of applicable data retention policies preferred
Independently motivated to seek knowledge in areas pertaining to their current position
Provide go-live support and serves as primary point of contact for on-going production maintenance, support and troubleshooting
Self-educates and seeks knowledge from mentors / management of Vidant enterprise, Information Services environment and Vidant operations relevant to their position

Minimum Requirements

High School or Equivalent (GED) or higher

Two to three years of experience

Proficient in MS Excel.

Must complete Epic Security certification with provider badge within 6 months of hire.

Must complete CIAM certification within 9 months of hire.

Additional Skills Required: Basic knowledge of MS Active Directory's domain structure schema, user and group object attributes. Basic knowledge of regulatory requirements, included but not limited to, PCI DSS, HIPAA, HITRUST, etc. Basic knowledge of and ability to work with Excel functions and formulas.
