Position Summary

Reporting to the Manager of Windows / Virtualization Server Engineering, this position helps identify opportunities and deploy technical solutions that enable improvements to the delivery of patient care and business operations. Works with a cross functional IS team in the delivery of Windows servers and Virtualization, hardware and software solutions and services. Helps support Back-Office applications, as well as storage, as it relates to the Windows environment. May be asked to lead smaller initiatives in this area.

Work Complexity Technical Competencies

Provide, ensure, and demonstrate comprehensive recoverability of all IT services, systems, and data in support of ECU Health's disaster recovery plans, retention policies, recovery time objectives and recover point objectives.

Provide expert guidance and expertise on all matters related to disaster recovery and business continuity management for IT operations.

Helps in the selection, management and ongoing optimization of all Windows Servers and Virtualization within ECU Health's Data Center and Network Operations Center NOC facilities and services, both on premise and other locations, including Co Location sites.

Actively attends training and other learning opportunities in order to stay current with technology, attending similar and or more advanced class as the rest of the team.

Helps define, institute and monitor performance standards, reporting metrics, and Key Performance Indicators KPIs to ensure alignment with service objectives.

Participates in the work to implement IT standards, technology architecture and the IT operations governance process, operations policies, procedures and best practices

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's degree or 2 year degree in business, healthcare administration, computer technology, information management or related field strongly desired.

1-3 certifications in related technologies desired

3-5 plus years of relevant technical experience working in large scale Windows and virtualization environments.

3-5 plus years of Storage Technology and a comprehensive understanding of current technologies and methodologies.

Hands-on experience with Windows Server and Virtualization, both hardware and OS, and Data Storage.

3-5 plus years of collaborative experience with other technical teams that have shown positive results.

A technically strong individual with 3-5 years of knowledge of healthcare IS solutions strongly desired.

Experience with following standards and maintaining a high level of user trust and confidence in the group's knowledge of and concern for users' business needs.

Able to translate information technology jargon into terms understandable by all audiences.

Understands the practical application of technology and is able to plan for systems today that will carry the organization into the future.

Thoroughly understands customer operations, anticipates needs, and pursues effective and efficient solutions. Experience managing to service level agreements in either an insourced or outsourced professional services operation.
